Rough Cut
Describe what you did.
I went back to my materials matrix and adjusted the descriptions to contain values such as the number of pages in a book, the number of posters in a set, and so on. I specified what was going to be physically produced and what was going to be mocked up. I also worked on the rough cut of the video.
Describe what was successful.
I believe I have the appropriate number of points to pass the point system. I also picked the visual style that was more appropriate for the thesis. The color scheme, in particular, references video game vernacular well. The hand-drawn type is meant to represent creation.
Describe what was unsuccessful and could be improved.
The video could use more dynamic effects, such as drawing in the brushstrokes, but After Effects is still new to me, so I am trying to figure out how to achieve such effects.
Describe anything new or interesting you learned.
I learned that there is a lot to After Effects I would like to learn, and I am hoping that future classes will teach me how to use this program.
Notes about plans for the next edit.
The length of the video needs to be trimmed to three minutes. I plan on achieving this by condensing my script. The narration could use some work as there are some cases where I need to speak more clearly and not stutter.
I also say: "Patterns suggest that since women do not make up an equal ratio in video game teams, gender equality is not shown in the product."
This should be changed to: "Patterns suggest that since women do not make up an equal ratio in gaming development teams, gender equality is not shown in the product."
