Thesis Materials

Describe how you came up with the keywords and how they connect to the topic, goal, and audience for your thesis.

I came up with the keywords by thinking about the purpose of the thesis, which is to inspire women to join the gaming industry. I also chose keywords that captured a specific mood. These words are meant to drive a certain aesthetic and capture the essence of the topic.

Make a case for why the keywords you chose are the best ones.

Empower: Of all the keywords, I feel that this is one of the most important ones because the point of the project is to give women the strength they need to pursue a career in the gaming industry.

Diverse: The gaming industry needs to be more inclusive and diverse. Arranging elements in a way that conveys diversity is an effective strategy.

Playful: The reason why people play games is to have fun. A playful aesthetic will draw gaming enthusiasts to the brand.

Rewrite: The thesis project has the potential to rewrite/change the gaming industry as we know it. Having an aesthetic with elements done by hand relates to the idea of creation.

Balance: Feminism isn't about women overpowering men; it's about advocating for a balance between men and women. This mood uses gradients and dark tones for a more mellow feeling.

Aim: Audience members have a goal of achieving their dreams. We help users aim for this goal, guiding them with resources. Aiming is also a gaming-related term.

Describe anything new or interesting you learned in this process.

I learned that it can be difficult to come up with mood boards that you haven't already utilized in other projects. I branched out from Pinterest and looked for pulls elsewhere, such as Behance.

Add any additional comments or ideas that you feel are appropriate in your presentation (optional).

The keywords will later be narrowed down depending on feedback. The goal will be to create a singular mood board that captures the essence of the brand.
